Work Assist – Employment Support Program

Is an employee’s job at risk? Do you need assistance at work? WE CAN HELP! 

  • Is it due to a disability, injury or health condition?
  • Are you working for 8 hours or more per week?
  • Would you like assistance to help keep your job?
  • Are you aged between 14 and 65 years?

Our assistance program is offered FREE OF CHARGE
to both the employee and employer.

If you (or someone you know) are struggling at work or at risk of losing your job, you may be eligible
for Federal Government assistance through Job Centre Australia’s ‘Work Assist’ program.

Our services are confidential, meaning you can decide whether or not you want to involve your employer.
We are flexible and supportive to each individual’s needs and situation.

We can tailor a program to meet your specific needs, which may include:

  • Onsite training and support
  • Workplace assessments
  • Workplace modifications
  • In-house training sessions
  • Short term counselling support

Am I eligible?

There is specific eligibility criteria for the Work Assist program. Below outlines some of the requirements of the program, however please get in contact and we can assist with assessing your eligibility. To be eligible, you must meet all of the criteria below:

  • Be currently employed
  • Have been working in that job for a minimum of eight hours per week on average over a consecutive 13 week period or there is an expectation that the Employment will last for at least 13 weeks for a minimum of eight hours per week on average.
  • Be an Australian resident, or a Temporary Protection Visa (TPV) /Safe Haven Enterprise Visas (SHEV) holder (see below for information about TPV/SHEV holders).
  • Not currently receiving services from another DES Provider or Employment Service Provider
  • Have a disability, injury or health condition
  • Aged between 14 and 65 years
  • Have a permanent address in the area (ESA) specified in the DES Provider’s Schedule or in an ESA that shares a common boundary with that ESA
  • Not have a Valid ESAt/JCA Referral recommendation to another service
  • There may be further requirements, specific to each individual’s circumstance
