Our Mentors

Kelvin

Hi, I'm Kelvin and I currently work with Job Centre Australia in the Newcastle area. I enjoy helping people to discover what they are good at, helping to set goals and then developing strategies so they can achieve their goals.

I was unemployed myself for some time before I started working for Job Centre Australia, and believe that I can relate to some of the issues that job seekers go through from first hand experience. I have had a wide range of life experiences and worked in a wide range of industries from various labouring and factory jobs through to middle management and owning my own business. My hobbies include renovating, physical fitness, cooking, making coffee and playing guitar.

I have had experience in training and developing people using Life Coaching principles, both in Australia and overseas. I have worked with people of all ages, from children and youth through to seniors.

Suzanne

Hi my name is Sue, and I am currently working at Job Centre Australia 's Orange office. My current role is working as a Site Coordinator and Marketer which involves ensuring the smooth day to day operation of our office, and assisting our clients with seeking successful employment. I have previously worked as a Case Manager with Job Centre Australia , which involved working with clients right from intake, through to pre employment skills training, job searching, on the job training and support.

In my previous positions over the last many years I have been heavily involved in Human Resources Workplace
Training / Safety.

I have recently moved to the outskirts of Orange to our new family home which I share with my husband and three sons. We have plenty of space where I enjoy spending time with the family in the gardens, working on various projects, and cooking. When we are not at home I spend a large amount of time supporting my children with their sport including Rugby & Cricket.

I feel that I can offer advice and support to my clients as I have had a mentor before who taught me a lot about life and people skills, as well as work and home skills. During my mentoring experience I learnt quite a lot and found it very rewarding. I am now very enthusiastic to share my knowledge and experience and encourage others through mentoring.

I am a qualified motor Mechanic. In 1987 during my final year of my apprenticeship, I had a serious Motor Bike Accident, which left me in hospital for 12 months. My right arm was amputated and I had several broken bones in my legs, which still cause me grief.

Before and after the accident I worked a Mack Trucks for 20 years at a Motor Mechanic and Spare Parts Interpreter. Later as the Spare Parts Manager.

I got married in 2004 and my wife and I moved from Wollongong to Young in the same year. I was a keen Scuba Diver, which I gave up due to moving to rural NSW.

My wife and I breed and show English Cocker Spaniels, which keeps us extremely busy traveling all over NSW.

Di

Hi Di here, I work in Job Centre Australia 's Chatswood Office and have been part of the team here since 2006.

I initially came part time to assist with claims and oversee the refit of our office however this place sort of grows on you and before I realised I was working full time.

My current role within Job Centre Australia , is Chatswood's Site Coordinator. In this role I am responsible for the smooth operation of our office ensuring that our team work on assisting our clients with setting out their employment goals.

Having worked in retail, wholesale, importing, direct marketing, training and sales I feel I have a fairly wide understanding of the types of industries that are suited to clients of JCAL.

Trying to get to the gym and archery are my current must do's and having limited success but only due to time restraints not lack of enthusiasm!
